Wiyaala promotes positive image of Ghana in Sloven

Wiyaala’s week long tour of Slovenia at the invitation of The Slovenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs was an unqualified success which she has used to promote a positive image of Ghana.   Besides sightseeing in the beautiful capital city of Ljubljana, the Ghanaian songstress performed at the “Dan Afrike” concert in the Town Hall Square alongside leading Slovenian musicians, including Tinkara Kovac, famous for representing Slovenia at the 2014 Eurovision contest. Wiyaala also did two club shows including the Blunout Club in Domzale, well known for hosting Slovenia’s top musicians. Perhaps, Wiyaala’s most significant contribution was to give a presentation about cultural and healthcare issues in Upper Rest Region at a conference designed to raise “Awareness about Diversity & Inclusion in Ghana.” Other speakers included Mirjam Sopar Urlep, President of the Management Board of Sandoz d.d, Gilbert Meznar Yelewere, President of the Slovenia/ Ghana Business Club. Vodafone should punish Charterhouse for two years - Blakk Rasta

Ghanaian reggae musician and a radio presenter Blakk Rasta have opined that Telecom giant Vodafone should punish Charterhouse organizers of Ghana Music Awards for putting people's lives in danger at the 20th VGMA. The Kuchoko hitmaker told host, DJ Nyaami on SVTV Africa that, to him, the best punishment for Charter House is for Vodafone to pull out the sponsorship for two years and as a way of telling Charter House, they are not happy with what happened on the night. "To me alone, Vodafone should pull out of the sponsorship for at least two years as a punishment. Because Charter House has been an embarrassment to Ghana. Balotelli shows massive support for Stonebwoy after VGMA saga

Ghanaian born Italian soccer player Mario Balotelli has waded into the recent brouhaha between dancehall musicians Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale.   Mario Balotelli is one top personality to have commented concerning the recent incident between top dancehall artistes. In a comment that YEN.com.gh sighted on the Instagram page of Stonebwoy, Balotelli wrote the fire emoji as a sign of support for Stonebwoy. Radio and Television personality, Afia Schwar has described persons on the VGMA Board as people with big heads but smaller brains. According to her, the ban placed on Ghana’s biggest musicians is not worth it and is needless. Afia Schwar who was speaking in a video MyNewsGh.com sighted online mentioned that music is very difficult to produce and therefore there is the need for a reconsideration of VGMA Board’s decision. She noted that most persons on the Board have retired from music because of what it takes to produce one hit song. She also blamed Ghanaian musicians for the way and manner in which they are been treated because they do not know their worth as musicians. The VGMA Board as a result of the brawl between Stonebwoy and Shatta Wale at the just ended Ghana Music Awards have banned the artistes indefinitely and have stripped them of the awards to won at the event.

Ghanaian actress Abena Mckenzie in an interview has said the youth now don't care about corruption in the country anymore, they just want to survive. The actress who is well known to speak about societal ills and national issues said that every institution of the country is in a mess. According to her, Ghanaians are not even as concerned about corruption anymore but just want to survive. She added in an interview on Lark TV that most Ghanaians have resorted to going abroad not because they don't like the country but because they don’t want to wake up and be afraid. DJ Switch makes it unto billboard in Times Square

Ghana’s youngest Disk Jockey, DJ Switch has made it unto a billboard in Times Square, New York. The young DJ was in New York where she shared a stage with Grammy Award winner Wyclef Jean, at the “Room To Read” New York Gala. The gala is aimed at raising funds to transform the lives of millions of children by focusing on literacy and gender equality in education. She took to Instagram to share a picture of herself pointing to the Billboard with the caption, “About last night... See alleged killer of Chris Attoh’s wife

The police have released a sketch of a man believed to have killed Bettie Jenifer, wife of Ghanaian actor Chris Attoh, barely two weeks after the unfortunate incident. Bettie, 44, and a mother-of-twins was brutally murdered on May 10 in front of about 10 witnesses. According to reports, she left the office in the 6300 block of Ivy Lane and was walking to her car when a man armed with a handgun approached her. When she tried to run away, the man followed her and fired at her multiple times, with at least one shot hitting her. The gunman then fled in a vehicle. Even though he has not been found, Maryland police have contacted cartographers to draw an image of the face of the killer based on the descriptions given by witnesses. Don Jazzy Nigerian music producer, Michael Collins, popularly known as Don Jazzy, has revealed that DMW boss, David Adeleke aka Davido is richer than him. He said this during a question and answer session with his fans on his official Instagram page. A favourite for many Nigerian and African music lovers, he also revealed how he found his newly signed artiste, Rema; what attracts him to ladies and many more.
